What Happens After a Judgment?When a creditor wins a judgment, they gain legal authority to pursue collection actions like wage garnishment, bank levies, or placing liens on your property. The judgment also shows up on your credit report and can negatively impact your score for years.
The Importance of Responding to LawsuitsMany judgments occur because the debtor fails to respond to the lawsuit (known as a "default judgment"). Ignoring the lawsuit is one of the worst mistakes you can make. How to Handle a Judgment
